OPINION ESSAY

Much of the world's population lives in big cities. Therefore, it seems that cities must be a wonderful place to live. However, in my opinion this is not true.

First of all, cities are noisy and dirty. people live with the constant sound of cars, lorries and buses  in the background. These vehicles also pollute tha air, making it dangerous to breathe. In addition, city streets are dirty and full of rubbish.

Secondaly, life in cities is crowded and pressured. Neighbours live very close together, so there  is very little privacy. Traffic jams make it difficult to get from place to place. As a result, people are tense and always in a hurry.

As far as I'm concerned, I feel that life in cities is far from ideal.

Two Lives

1.Look at the front cover and observe it. How do you relate the title to the picture?

I think the title of the book and the cover says it all. Must be a love story between two people who want and will do anything to be together.
2.Most of the story takes place in Tredonald, Wales. Find information about this coal mining village. With the Industrial Revolution ( 17th and 18th c ) , coal mining, a tiny industry in the 15th century, became a national and international industry. Thus, the 19th century was a century of massive expansion for the coal industry in Wales. But the end of the 20th century brought almost universe closure. Find information about 1984 miners' strike

Big Pit is located on the edge of Blaenafon, a city that played an important role in the Industrial Revolution. This revolution transformed the landscape, culture and society in Wales, UK and the world.

The start of the strike.

On March 1, 1984 was the final provocation, the government announced 20,000 layoffs and the closure of 20 wells. To defend themselves of such aggression, 150,000 miners began their strike, which was fierce and lasted over a year.

20 years ago, on March 5, 1984, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) British launched a major strike. The mask of democracy (the so-called independence of the judiciary, media, etc..) Gave way to the real role of the State apparatus in capitalist society. The rulers spent billions to crush the militancy of the miners, who eventually defeated. More than 10,000 were arrested, two died in the pickets, an untold number wounded and tens of thousands were indebted for years by lending to those who have had to resort to keep the strike.

I would like to write about my favourite actor, Adam Sandler. Adam

Richard Sandler (born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 9, 1966) is a

comedian actor, musican, screenwriter and film producer. I think he’s

a fantastic person and he's very good actor. His movies are very funny and

the theeme that he's deal with are contemporary.

First of all, in his films Adam is what should happen very well at all

because is looks very happy. He's an attractive person and who dresses

well. Is not a tall person, is rather short. Is a thin, in good physical

condition, short hair and he has got favourite sport is baseball.
